Hair Care Foundations

Clean parting, sectioning, ponytail foundations, product preparation, basic braids or plaits, accessories, and confidence with textured hair routines.

Literacy & Connection

Read-aloud moments and family conversation are built into the experience, with book themes centered on confidence, identity, grooming culture, love, and encouragement.

Community Experience

Braids, Bonds & Books is designed as a warm, intimate father-daughter engagement experience with brunch, photos, takeaways, and local resource connections.

Built Around Presence

This program is part of The Protector Project, a community initiative under His Child Her Chair LLC focused on strengthening families through education, wellness, literacy, mentorship, and meaningful connection. The event concept honors a legacy of fathers and father figures showing up with care, pride, and intentionality.

  • Arrival, welcome items, and guided seating
  • Hands-on hair education with support throughout the room
  • Spanish-inspired brunch and conversation time
  • Photos, swag bags, resource lists, and future engagement

Family Prep

  • Daughters should arrive with clean, washed, and blow-dried hair when styling practice is part of the session.
  • Fathers, father figures, grandfathers, uncles, and caregivers are welcome to express interest.
  • Sessions may include local stylist resource lists for follow-up support.

Partnership Support

Community sponsors can help provide brunch, hair supplies, swag bags, literacy materials, decor, photography, and family resources.
